Our Goal: Digital Inclusion

At Medios, we are committed to enabling the most innovative tailored therapies for everybody. This naturally requires that everyone can also obtain comprehensive information about our company on our website. That is why we are pleased to comply with the requirements of the new Accessibility Strengthening Act.

Accessibility Information

Communication and Specialty Pharma Share a Common Principle: Their effectiveness depends on the optimal form of delivery and dosage – and this is always individual. The Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), which came into force on June 28, 2025, takes this into account and requires companies and organizations, among other things, to make content on their websites and other digital services accessible to everyone.

What Digital Accessibility Means Digital accessibility ensures that people with visual, auditory, or cognitive impairments can easily find and understand all content. Improved accessibility can be achieved, for example, through a clear website structure, easy-to-understand language, videos with captions or sign language for people with hearing impairments, and descriptive alternative text for videos, images, or forms, which can be read aloud by screen readers for blind users.

At Medios, we are committed to ensuring the highest possible level of digital accessibility for our website and related systems. This allows people with disabilities to use our website simply and conveniently. For us, this is not only a legal obligation but also an expression of our values: we embrace the principle of partnership-based intelligence, which fosters new solutions through equal collaboration among all. Accessibility is an important step on this path.

The WCAG as Our Guideline

We are guided primarily by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These technical standards improve the accessibility of websites, web content, and web applications for people with various impairments. They were developed by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), a project of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The four core principles of the WCAG are: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust.

  • Perceivable: Ensured, for example, through alternative text, captions, adjustable font size, and sufficient contrast.
  • Operable: All functions must be usable not only by mouse, but also via keyboard or voice commands.
  • Understandable: Refers both to the clarity of the language used and the usability of the user interface.
  • Robust: Content must be created with semantic HTML and correct ARIA usage (Accessible Rich Internet Applications), so that it can be accessed by assistive technologies such as screen readers, Braille displays, or speech recognition software.

Concrete Accessibility Improvements on Our Website

  • Consistent heading hierarchies (H1, H2, H3) to provide clear orientation for screen reader users.
  • Use of semantic HTML tags to ensure assistive technologies can interpret content correctly.
  • Addition and optimization of alternative text for all relevant images, enabling them to be read aloud by screen readers.
  • Introduction of “skip-to-content” links, allowing users to jump directly to the main content.
  • Consistent link texts (“Learn more” → “Learn more about [topic]”) to improve clarity.
  • Review and adjustment of colors and contrasts in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards for better orientation and readability.
  • Implementation of ARIA roles and attributes to inform users about interaction options or the current status.
  • Properly labeled form fields with ARIA attributes to support accurate data entry.

Your Feedback Matters!

An evaluation with the tool AccessiWay Accessibility Test has shown that our website is designed to meet the requirements of the WCAG. However, we do not see accessibility as a fixed goal but as a continuous process. This means we will continue to review all possibilities for further improving our website to meet the diverse needs of all users.

Your feedback is a valuable part of this process. If you encounter any difficulties in using the content on our website as intended or if you have specific suggestions for improvement, please feel free to contact us.
